Visualization of Five Socioeconomic Factors in 2010 by State

This visualization tool, including a choropleth map and a dynamic bar graph, displays a set of five important measurements to depict the economic and sociological conditions in the US in the year of 2010. These measurements or variables are the percentage of unemployed population by state, the percentage of college graduates by state, the poverty rate by state, the percentage of the foreign-born population and the percentage of high-tech employment by state. You could select a different variable to visualize on the map and compare the exact measurements across the states on the bar graph. This tool ultimately reveals some possible correlations existing among these variables in each state, such as the state with a higher percentage of college graduates tend to have a higher percentage of high-technology employment, however, these are not causal relations.
